Felicity Huffman

Felicity Huffman discovered a love for acting at an early age. During high school, Felicity participated in theater productions at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. Huffman continued to hone her skills by completing a drama degree at the Tisch School of the Arts in 1988. In her early 20s, Felicity Huffman joined the Atlantic Theater Company, wherein she learned the craft from renowned actor William H. Macy, who later became her husband. Felicity Huffman landed a small role in the 1988 movie “Things Change,” followed by a lead role in the Broadway production of “Speed the Plow.”

After appearing in the 1990 film “Reversal of Fortune,” Felicity Huffman made her TV debut in the Stephen King miniseries “Golden Years” in 1991. The following year, she appeared in her first made-for-TV movie “Quicksand: No Escape.” In 1995, Felicity Huffman starred onstage in “Dangerous Corner” and “The Cryptogram,” where she won an OBIE Award. She went back to the small screen the following year in the Showtime TV series “Bedtime.” In 1997, she joined the Atlantic Theater Company production of “The Joy of Going Somewhere Definite.” In 1998, Felicity Huffman co-starred in the movie “The Spanish Prisoner” and landed a role on the ABC series “Sports Night,” where she earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in 2000.

In 1999, Felicity Huffman co-starred with husband William H. Macy in the TNT original movie “A Slight Case of Murder,” followed by a small role in the film “Magnolia.” In 2001, she appeared in the Lifetime made-for-TV movie “Snap Decision.” The following year, she worked with HBO for the original movie “Path to War,” where Felicity portrayed Lady Bird Johnson. In 2003, Felicity Huffman guest-starred in the long-running TV sitcom “Frasier” and joined the cast of the Showtime series “Out of Order.”

After appearing in the CBS miniseries “Reversible Errors” with husband William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman won the most popular role of her career – as Lynette Scavo in the ABC drama “Desperate Housewives.” For her work on the show, Felicity Huffman has received several nominations from the Golden Globe Awards from 2005 to 2007, won a “Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress” in 2005 and has won three awards from the Screen Actors Guild Awards (including an “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series” and two awards for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series”)

While working on the set of Desperate Housewives, Felicity Huffman continued to work on stage and in feature films, such as the indie drama “Transamerica,” which led to a SAG and Oscar nominations for Best Actress. In 2007, Felicity Huffman worked alongside Lindsay Lohan in the Garry Marshall movie “Georgia Rule.” In 2009, Felicity Huffman starred in the movie “Phoebe in Wonderland” and is scheduled to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
