Felicity Huffman, born on December 9, 1962 in Bedford, New York, is an award-winning TV, film and stage actress, known for her role as Lynette Scavo in the ABC program “Desperate Housewives” and the 2005 drama “Transamerica.” As the daughter of actress Grace Valle, Felicity grew up wanting to become an actress. While attending the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, she began her journey as a performing actress. When she graduated high school, Felicity Huffman went straight to the Tisch School of the Arts to pursue a degree in drama.
By 1988, Felicity Huffman was already appearing in films such as “Things Changes” and Broadway productions like “Speed-the-Plow.” During this time, Felicity Huffman collaborated with actor William H. Macy and playwright David Mamet on various productions on stage. She also appeared in several roles on TV programs, such as “The X-Files” “Chicago Hope,” “Sports Night” and most notably on the drama-comedy series “Desperate Housewives.” After receiving numerous nominations and an Emmy Award for her work on the series, Felicity Huffman played a transsexual parent in the 2005 critically acclaimed indie film “Transamerica,” which led to “Best Actress” awards from the Golden Globe, Independent Spirit Award, National Board of Review and Phoenix Film Critics Association.
Felicity Huffman met William H. Macy while studying at the Atlantic Theater Company. After 15 years of dating, Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy got married on September 6, 1997. They have two daughters – Sophia Grace Macy (born on August 1, 2000) and Georgia Grace Macy (born on March 14, 2002).
Aside from acting, Felicity Huffman also teaches drama at the Atlantic Theater Company. In fact, Jessica Alba was one of her students. Huffman and her husband also participate in triathlon regularly. Felicity has also sung backup for the “New York Girls’ Club” album of Rebecca Pidgeon. In 2009, Felicity Huffman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
